NEW YORK, January 30, 2012 – Nick Cannon flaunts his trademark charisma and natural comic timing with the Network Television Premiere of “Nick Cannon: Mr. Showbiz” debuting on COMEDY CENTRAL Saturday, February 18 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT.
The popular comic, actor, radio and TV host presents his first-ever stand-up special filmed at The Pearl Theatre inside the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. In “Nick Cannon: Mr. Showbiz,” Cannon reveals surprisingly edgy and hysterically honest tales of his failed attempts at being a gangster, his humble roots, what life is like being married to the biggest-selling female recording artist of all time, the joys of fatherhood and his thoughts about the rapper Eminem. Viewers won’t want to miss the chance to see the busiest man in Hollywood who jumpstarted his career while working the comedy club circuit as a teenager doing what he loves most – showing off his stand-up skills.
“Nick Cannon: Mr. Showbiz” was directed by Rodrigo Pelmonto and executive produced by Cannon and Michael Goldman for NCredible Entertainment and Brian Volk-Weiss for New Wave Dynamics.
Cannon is a successful, multi-faceted entertainer: film star, comedian, musician, writer and Executive Producer of his very own hit TV shows. His television credits include Nickelodeon’s “All That,” MTV’s “Nick Cannon Presents Wild N Out,” host of the “Teen Choice Awards” and host/DJ for ABC’s highly successful “Presidential Inaugural Neighborhood Ball.” Cannon has been the host of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” since 2009. He can also be seen as a series regular on NBC’s “Up All Night.”
Cannon’s movie credits include “Drumline,” “Men in Black II,” “Garfield: The Movie,” “Underclassman,” “Shall We Dance” and “Roll Bounce.” His 2007 performance in “Bobby” earned him a 2007 SAG nomination for “Outstanding Performance” in addition to becoming the first African American actor to be honored at the world renowned Cannes Film Festival with the “Breakthrough Actor of the Year” award.
In 2009, he launched his own multi-media company called NCredible Entertainment, which has successfully produced TV and film projects. In addition to overseeing many film and TV projects currently in development through NCredible Entertainment, Cannon also serves as the CEO of teen magazine Celebrity High, Chairman of TeenNick, host of the #1 morning radio show “Rolling with Nick Cannon” in New York City tri-state on CBS 92.3 NOW FM, as well as his own nationally syndicated Top 40 weekend countdown radio show, “Cannon’s Countdown.”
