NEW YORK, April 3, 2012 – Patton Oswalt returns to COMEDY CENTRAL with a whole new outlook in the network television premiere of “Patton Oswalt: Finest Hour,” airing Saturday, April 21 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Since becoming a father, Oswalt has gained a new perspective on life that he brings to the special, filmed at the famed Moore Theatre in Seattle. Everything looks new – sweatpants, parking tickets, and even Disneyland. He brings his unique take to stories about easily offended crack heads, the gay best friend cliche, and the most elegant use of a barf bag he has ever seen.
“Patton Oswalt: Finest Hour” extended and uncensored DVD will be released on April 24 by COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment with bonus features not included in the broadcast. Features include the fan favorite KFC Bit, a slideshow of “Stuff Patton Mentions;” and “Pre-Show Superstitions,” an interview in which Patton describes audience members who can throw him off his game.
The extended and uncensored version of “Patton Oswalt: Finest Hour” will be available for download on April 24 on iTunes and Amazon Instant Video and available in HD exclusively on Xbox Live and Sony PlayStation Network. Pre-order is available on iTunes now.
The CD of “Patton Oswalt: Finest Hour,” released by COMEDY CENTRAL Records in 2011, was nominated for a GRAMMY® Award for Best Comedy Album, and has spent several weeks on Billboard’s Top Ten Comedy Albums list.
Leading up to the on-air premiere, COMEDY CENTRAL Stand-Up will feature preview clips from the special.
As a 20-year veteran of the stand-up comedy scene, with four albums, concert DVDs, his own comedy tour and various acting and voiceover roles under his belt, Oswalt has become ubiquitous in the world of stand-up. He has shot four TV specials and four critically-acclaimed albums including “My Weakness Is Strong,” the recording of a one hour COMEDY CENTRAL special, which also received a GRAMMY® nomination. He tours regularly, headlining both in the United States and UK. In addition, he has a bi-monthly show at Largo in the Coronet Theatre in Los Angeles.
Oswalt was recently seen in Jason Reitman’s film “Young Adult,” starring opposite Charlize Theron. He has appeared in more than 20 films, including “Magnolia,” “Starsky and Hutch” and ‘Reno 911!: Miami.” He provided the voice for Remy, the rat, in Pixar’s Oscar-winning “Ratatouille” and voices characters on “Word Girl” and TBS’s “Neighbors from Hell.”
Oswalt was a series regular on Showtime’s “United States of Tara” and played Spence on “The King of Queens” on CBS for nine seasons. He has appeared on “The Sarah Silverman Program,” “Flight of the Conchords,” “Seinfeld,” “Reaper,” “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” and “Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job!” and has a recurring role on SyFy’s new series “Caprica.” Oswalt is a regular contributor to “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” and “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
“Patton Oswalt: Finest Hour” is executive produced by Oswalt, Michael Petok, Dave Rath, and Kara Welker; produced by Danny Harris, and directed by Jason Woliner.
