NEW YORK, July 28, 2009 – From the mind of JP Hansson (creator of “Pleaseeasaur”) comes a brand new project, JP Inc. Hansson’s aptly named debut album for COMEDY CENTRAL Records, “An Album of Distinction,” is just that…distinctive. Co-produced by Rob Crow (Pinback), “An Album of Distinction” follows a consistently imaginative and hilarious path throughout its 24 tracks, all of which are theme songs for TV shows that do not exist…yet!
In addition to Hasson’s very distinct music and vocal styles, “An Album of Distinction” features various cameos from members of The Dead Milkmen, Pinback, Black Heart Procession, Gregg Turkington and more.
JP’s previous incarnation, “Pleaseeasaur” has an album on COMEDYCENTRAL Records entitled “The Amazing Adventures Of Pleaseeasaur”.
JP will be performing nationally through August 14th with the Starlight Mints and from August 16 through October 6th with Neil Hamburger.
Previously released recordings by COMEDY CENTRAL Records include: Dane Cook’s “ISolated INcident,” Cook’s platinum-selling “Harmful If Swallowed” and double-platinum “Retaliation,” Mitch Hedberg’s “Do You Believe in Gosh,” Grammy Award-winning, “Lewis Black: The Carnegie Hall Performance,” Grammy Award-nominees’ Steven Wright’s “I Still Have A Pony” and George Lopez’s “America’s Mexican,” Joe Rogan’s “Shiny Happy Jihad”, Christopher Titus’s “5th Annual End Of The World Tour,” Norm MacDonald’s “Ridiculous,” Demetri Martin’s “These Are Jokes,” “Jim Gaffigan: Beyond The Pale,” Mike Birbiglia’s “My Secret Public Journal Live,” D.L.
