NEW YORK, November 4, 2013 – A legend that needs no introduction, Bill Cosby comes to Comedy Central for his first television concert special in 30 years. “Bill Cosby: Far From Finished” will premiere on Saturday, November 23 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Robert Townsend directed the 90-minute event, which Cosby performed at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles this summer. As always, he crafts stories around topics that are familiar to most – relationships, marriage, and children – but that he addresses with his singular point of view and renowned and celebrated sense of humor.

Leading up to the on-air premiere, the Comedy Central Stand-Up Web site will feature preview clips from the special. Fans can tweet using the hashtag #FarFromFinished to join the social chatter around the special. The Comedy Central Stand-Up Web site and CC:Stand-Up iPad, iPhone and Xbox apps will feature preview clips from the special. A custom Comedy Central Stand-Up Facebook tab will also feature preview clips as well as links to comedians influenced by Cosby.

The “Bill Cosby: Far From Finished” extended Blu-ray and DVD will be released on November 26 by Comedy Central Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment, featuring material not seen in the broadcast, including an interview with Cosby conducted by Robert Townsend, a behind-the-scenes featurette, and an inside look at the making of his song “Gangbusters.”

The “Bill Cosby: Far From Finished” CD will also be released on November 26 by Comedy Central Records, with two bonus tracks titled “Bernadette” and “Otis” contributing to over 40 minutes of additional material.

“Bill Cosby: Far From Finished” will be available on November 26 in HD and SD on iTunes, Xbox Video, Amazon Instant Video, Sony Entertainment Network, Samsung, Vudu, Vdio and Target. The album will be available on all digital platforms. In addition, Cosby is performing stand-up across the country with the Bill Cosby: Far From Finished Tour. “Bill Cosby Himself” aired three decades ago and is considered one of the landmark comedy specials of all time. “The Cosby Show” was in part an evolution of the “Himself” routines.

One of America’s most beloved comedians of all time, Cosby has captivated generations of fans with his comedy routines, iconic albums and best-selling books such as “Fatherhood.” His comedy transcends ages, genders and cultures. Cosby went around television’s racial obstacles with “I Spy,” becoming the first African American to costar on a weekly, dramatic television series while winning three consecutive Emmys®. Cosby created and produced the Emmy Award®-winning cartoon series “Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids,” which began airing in the 1970s and was made into a film in 2004. The show, based on Cosby’s childhood in Philadelphia, was designed to educate and entertain. Perhaps Cosby’s greatest contribution to American entertainment and culture is “The Cosby Show,” about a close-knit, upper middle income Black family. Cosby has received the Kennedy Center Honors, the Presidential Medal of Freedom (America’s highest civilian honor), the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor and the Marian Anderson Award.

Darryl M. Bell, Judi Marmel, Robert Hartmann and Stu Schreiberg are Executive Producers of “Bill Cosby: Far From Finished,” a production of Levity Productions.
